Around the studio

I updated my about section on Etsy and it was fun putting together all the little snippets from the corners of my studio. There are a few of the in process fabrics I used for my fall collection, indigo tools and my inspiration wall.

Have a happy indigo day!

  1. Karina,
First of all, excuse me for my bad english.
I'm a French student in Applied Arts, and I would like to specialize in Textile Design. I don't use to post comment on a blog, but your work is so inspiring that I really wanted to tell you that you really make me want to create as beautiful textiles as yours. You are one of these creative persons who really inspire me and make me want to keep on developping my creativity !
If you have the time, it would be great if you could post an article in which your explain your creative process, and how you finally became a textile designer/artist (where you studied ? what were your first works ? ...)
Keep doing such beautiful things !

  2. Hi Pauline,
Thank you so much for your lovely comment, you are too kind! It means alot to me to hear from other inspired artists!! I think a post about my beginning and inspiration is a great idea. I will do it! To briefly answer some of your questions, I received a BFA in Fibers from Arizona State University. Although I did a little bit of everything my specialty was in screen printing and I would make large patterned pieces 8' by 4'. I should share those sometime. It's been a long process of learning and figuring out what I really want to do and make!! My suggestion is to try everything! Anyway, thank you for your support and interest in my work :) Have a wonderful summer.
